Poetry consists mainly of images.
Poetry is measured in metres - rhythm
Iambic is two beats. The second beat is more prominent than the first. An Iambic pentameter is these two beats repeated five times. (Pent - 5 - Pentagon)
For example - "If music be the food of love play on"
Two types of Japanese Poem:
Haiku and Tanka - These are both syllabics
Haiku - 5,7,5
Tanka - 5,7,5,77
